FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions: We all have questions about University of the 3rd Age (U3A), especially U3A for the Glen Waverley suburb. So here are answers to some commonly asked questions.

What’s your current  membership fee?

Full membership for a year: $50. Please note that the annual membership fee is fixed for any time within a calendar. It is not subject to a pro rata rate.
Due to COVID-19 the additional $20 per term computer fee to cover costs has been waived until further notice.

Where are classes normally conducted?

U3A Highvale classes take place within the Highvale Retirement Village and at the Glen Waverley Uniting Church hall.

While normally most classes are located at the Village (hence the name), our not-for-profit association is a separate entity established under U3A principles to serve senior residents, retirees and people who are semi-retired in the Glen Waverley area.

Where can I find information about classes?

Information about class times and venues may be found under Courses > Courses List Preview on this U3A Highvale website.

What is MyU3A?

MyU3A is an online system to assist U3As in the administration of their membership and courses.  It is accessed from the U3A’s website via MyU3A Login and enables:

  • non-members to apply for membership, view course information and enrol in class(es)
  • existing members to renew their membership, view course information and enrol in class(es)
  • class members to send an apology for anticipated absence from class
  • tutors to view information about each course or class, list of students and wait lists
  • administrators and tutors to send bulk emails to members
  • administrators to print class lists for tutors.

Do you have an onsite office?

Unfortunately, no.  We have a landline phone, website and email address, see Contact Us.

We also have a mail box (the cream-coloured one) alongside the residents’ mailboxes outside the Community Centre at the Highvale Retirement Village.

Is parking available?

There is parking outside the Community Centre where most of the classes are held.  There is additional visitor parking scattered around the Village and on nearby streets. Residents’ parking spaces are numbered and not for use by visitors.

Where is the Community Centre?

The Community Centre is the first building inside Gate 1 of Highvale Retirement Village at 42-60 Capital Avenue, Glen Waverley.

Some classes are held in The Manor.  Where is that?

The Manor is a two-storey building inside Gate 3 of Highvale Retirement Village at 42-60 Capital Avenue, Glen Waverley.
